Theology Index

The biggest issue with Theology on Annai is that most theologies are equally valid. The nature of the Gods is not one that can be easily reconciled with the way humans interpret the world, and this leads quite obviously to static in the translation to human terms. For example, for almost 1300 years the southern half of Paradea worshiped Phykos as Alpam-ra-aung, the Twelve-legged Elephant God who ruled the council of heaven. While this is incorrect in the context of northern theology, it is not incorrect to say that while for the North Phykos is the Lord King of Heaven and the Dispenser of Wisdom, for the southern half he did in fact appear as the twelve-legged elephant god. The best descriptions require a working knowledge of some ancient terms: the Gods can be said to exist in all states at the same time, and it is only the mind of the person seeking to worship them that must compress them into one form or aspect.

In this way, it is difficult to create an exhaustive list of the thousands of Gods and their relations in each pantheon; Thus the framework of Northern religion will be used to designate gods. When available, information about their positions and actions in different religions and different pantheons will be recorded on each individual God's page.
